Prepare the soil

Did you plant the saplings without preparing the soil? This will make the marigold plants grow, but you won't get the flowers as desired. Prepare the soil by mixing vermicompost and sand with the soil. This will prevent water from accumulating in the soil and produce good flowers.

Adequate sunlight is needed

The stronger the sun shines in winter, the better the flowering plants will be. The plants will have good flowers. So make sure the marigold plants get adequate sunlight. Place the marigold plant pots in a place where they get direct sunlight. Then you'll see the plants filled with flowers.

Water wisely

The weather is dry now. So you have to water twice a day. But if the base of the plant is wet, you can manage without watering twice a day. Excessive watering reduces the number of flowers. Additionally, the base of the marigold plant may also rot. So before watering, make sure the soil is completely dry. If needed, you can water once a day or every other day.

Don't forget to fertilise

To get more and bigger flowers, you have to fertilise the plants. But if you give too much or excessive fertiliser, the plant will die. So don't make the mistake of giving chemical fertilisers. You can give rice-lentil wash water and vegetable-fruit peels at the base of the marigold plant. Using organic fertiliser will improve plant growth and produce good flowers.
