How to make it
Start by washing and cleaning the prawns well, leaving the tails intact. Make a lengthwise slit down the middle of each prawn. Place them in a bowl and marinate with salt, black pepper, garlic paste, soy sauce and lemon juice. Keep the marinated prawns in the refrigerator for about half an hour.
In another bowl, make a thick batter using all-purpose flour, cornflour, black pepper, salt, baking powder, egg and ice water. Mix until smooth.
Dip each marinated prawn into the batter, coat well and deep-fry in hot oil until they turn crisp and golden.
Serve the freshly fried prawns hot with your tea or coffee—perfect for any friendly gathering.
