Bhutan's national dish is Ema Datshi. This dish is eaten with rice and bread. In the Bhutanese language, 'Ema' means green chilli and 'Datshi' means cheese. That is, this dish is made with green chilli and cheese. Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone also fell in love with this Ema Datshi when she visited Bhutan. However, it's not that you cannot make it just because it's Bhutanese food. Rather, you will find comfort eating Ema Datshi during winter evenings. This food is easily digestible and also keeps the body warm.

Simple recipe for Ema Datshi
Ingredients
5 jalapeño peppers, 3 green chillies, 1 onion, 1 tomato, 1 cup cheese, 2 tablespoons butter, 1 teaspoon black pepper, 2 tablespoons spring onion, salt to taste, and 1 teaspoon white oil.

Steps to prepare Ema Datshi
Cut the jalapeño peppers and green chillies lengthwise. Then remove the seeds and wash them. Cut the onion and tomato into pieces. You can skip the tomato if you want. Now, heat oil and butter in a pan. Add onion, chillies, and tomato and sauté lightly.
Then pour hot water and cover. When the onion and tomato are half-cooked, remove the lid and add cheese. Keep stirring until the cheese melts. When the mixture becomes thick like soup, add butter and salt to taste on top. Ema Datshi will be just like soup. When all ingredients are melted, turn off the gas. Mix black pepper powder on top. Ema Datshi is ready. You can make and eat Ema Datshi on winter evenings.
