Melbourne Stars lead BBL 2025-26 standings as records fall and the top-four playoff race intensifies

The Australian premium T20 league, one of the finest, the Big Bash League, is heading towards an exciting phase. This year BBL showed a few blistering innings and also a few good bowling performances also came in this season. After the 20th match, Melbourne Stars stood in the first position while Sydney Thunder stood in the last position till now.

Matt Renshaw stood in the first position with 243 runs in six matches. While Indian origin player Nikhil Chaudhary stands in the third position in the highest run scorer list with 211 runs in 6 matches, with a strike rate of 155. Peter Siddle of Melbourne Stars is leading the charts of wicket takers with 10 wickets.

The Big Bash League 2025–26 points table shows Melbourne Stars leading the standings with 8 points from 5 matches, backed by a strong net run rate of +1.379. Hobart Hurricanes are second, also on 8 points, but after playing one extra game and with a marginal NRR advantage of +0.017. Perth Scorchers sit third with 6 points from 5 games, closely followed by Brisbane Heat in fourth with 6 points from 6 matches despite a negative NRR. Adelaide Strikers and Sydney Sixers occupy mid-table with 4 points each. Melbourne Renegades and Sydney Thunder trail at the bottom with 2 points.

As of now, Melbourne Stars, Hobart Hurricanes, Perth Scorchers and Brisbane Heat are leading the charts.

Records and performances

In this season, the Perth Scorchers surpassed 200+ runs three times and made a trailblazing 257 runs against the Brisbane Heat. However, the Brisbane Heat won the match, scoring 258 runs. In the 20 matches of the season, 5 players have already registered centuries, including Mitchel Marsh.

Although Australian management did not select their provisional World Cup players based on their BBL performances, they chose players who had provided good performances in the international side.
