The Registered Available player pool, normally known as RAPP, is one of the most important things of IPL, but very few are aware of it. It is a player list compiled only after the auction to give teams an option to find replacement players. On Tuesday, BCCI shared a long list of 1307 players who were registered for the IPL Auction and did not withdraw. The list also includes the names of those who remained unsold at the December 16 auction in Abu Dhabi.

The RAPP list includes two types of players: those who did not withdraw their name after registering in the pool, and others whose names appear in the Auction but went unsold. The replacement player must have their name on the RAPP list, and their league fee must be the same as their reserve price.

Key players who are available in the list

Steve Smith, who has been in red-hot form in the BBL, is in the list along with Jonny Bairstow and Jamie Smith. The list also includes the name of Daryl Mitchell, who showed a great temperament in the India vs New Zealand series. He was also named the Man of the Series for scoring more than 350 runs. Big names like Reece Topley, Gerald Coetzee, and Michael Barcewell are also available in the list.

A few IPL stars like Devon Conway, Maheesh Teekshana, and Mujeeb Ur Rahaman, who showed great potential and performed really well, have gone unsold this year. There are also players like, who are there to add value for the teams if needed.

Key Indian players to look for

The capped Indian players list includes Mayank Agarwal, Deepak Hooda, Navdeep Saini, and Umesh Yadav. Other than them, Chetan Sakariya, Abhinav Manohar, and Kamalesh Nagarkoti are also there to add value to the teams.

Though this year’s auction was more focused on the Indian uncapped players still players like Simarjeet Singh, Tanush Kotian, and Raj Limbani have missed out on the chance. Their names are also there in the list.

Notably, in accordance with this paragraph 6, franchisees who independently contract with players on the RAPP list to serve as net bowlers during the season are not allowed to call on that player in advance if another franchisee wants to use him as a replacement, and they are required to release him right away if he accepts terms to serve as a replacement player for another franchisee.
