The IPL 2026 auction is all set to take place in Abu Dhabi, and 30th November was the last date to register player names in the list of auctionable players. Moeen Ali also opted out of the list after CSK legend Faf Du Plessis.
The 38-year-old former English player, who has been released by his previous franchise, Moeen Ali, has experience of playing 73 IPL matches with three franchises. He last appeared in the PSL in the 2020 edition for the Multan Sultans.

On Monday, December 1, former England all-rounder Moeen Ali announced on his Instagram account that he is making himself available for the upcoming PSL 2026 season. This marks his return to the Pakistani T20 tournament after a five-year gap.
He took to Instagram and wrote, “I’m really excited to be joining HBL PSL in its New Era. The league has earned a reputation for top-level T20 cricket, with high-quality competition and world-class talent across every team. Playing in Pakistan is always incredible; the quality of cricket is outstanding, and the passion and intensity from the crowd push you to bring your best. I’m looking forward to being part of it all and creating some great memories along the way. Ready for another special experience Insha’Allah!”
Also, this does not end the chances of Moeen Ali playing in IPL later. The veteran player played for CSK for four years, and in the last year, he was not able to replicate the magic for KKR, and did not get that much game time either.
