The South Africa tour of India ODI series has now come into an interesting phase as the Proteas made a comeback against India in the second match of the ODI series. Aiden Markram led the batting with a century for them, and Bravis, Bosch, and Breetzke also helped the team to secure the win. India's inexperienced pace bowling line-up was unable to control the dew, and as a result, Prasidh Krishna conceded 85 runs in 8.2 overs, and Harshit Rana also conceded 70 runs in 10 overs. In the bowling, only Arshdeep Singh stood tall, threw his experience fully to save Kohli and Ruturaj’s effort.

After losing 20th toss in a row, Proteas put India to bat first. Batting first, India put a humongous total of 359 runs on the board. Rohit Sharma looked off today and was jabbed by Nandre Burger, whereas Jaiswal also departed after having a good start. In the middle, Virat Kohli and Ruturaj Gaikwad formed a 195-run stand and made batting look so soothing, like never before. Ruturaj scored his maiden century today, and the run machine scored his second consecutive century in this series. It was his 53rd ODI century, and he put one step forward to match Tendulkar’s record. Team captain KL Rahul came at number 5 and scored 66 runs and finishing the innings with Jadeja and helping the team reach 359 runs. Nandre Burger sustained a hamstring injury while bowling.

In reply to the Indian innings, the Proteas vice-captain Aiden Markram played a blistering innings of 110 runs. Mathew Breetzkee, Dewald Bravis, and Temba Bavuma stood tall for the Proteas. Bravis scored 54 runs in just 34 balls, and Breetzke played a calm innings of 68 runs, which opened the way for Corbin Bosch to hit the ball in the end. The South African batters targeted pace bowlers and found success in the batting; spin bowler Kuldeep Yadav was also hammered hard by the Proteas. Overall, it was a bad day for bowling also as dew played a major role in the second innings and made bowling hard on this type of pitch. Only Arshdeep Singh went economically. Despite the win South African camp will be in worry as Tony de Zorzi and pace bowler Nandre Burger sustained hamstring injuries in the field; both players left the field immediately.

The last match and decider will be played on 6th December in Vishakhapattanam. Till then, India needs to clarify their fast bowling woes, as inexperience did not help the bowlers to settle down in front of the inform South African batters.
