Liverpool’s poor form continues. Whether in the Premier League or the Champions League, Mohamed Salah, Dominik Szoboszlai and their teammates are struggling to secure wins. With Wednesday night’s 1–1 draw against Sunderland, Liverpool have now gone winless in four of their last five matches.
In another surprise, 17th-placed Leeds United stunned Chelsea 3–1 at home. Meanwhile, Arsenal strengthened their position at the top of the points table with a 2–0 win over Brentford. They are now five points ahead of second-placed Manchester City.

Liverpool held again
Liverpool won their previous EPL match against West Ham. But they stumbled immediately after. At Anfield, they were held to a draw by Sunderland. Manager Arne Slot once again did not include Mohamed Salah in the starting XI. Despite dominating large portions of the match, Liverpool could not secure a win.
Sunderland took the lead in the 67th minute through Kemsdin Taibi. In the 81st minute, an own goal from Nordi Mukiele brought Liverpool level. But Liverpool’s forwards, including Gakpo and Isak failed to convert chances, costing the team once again. With this draw, Liverpool sit eighth with 22 points.
Chelsea defeated
Chelsea missed a chance to climb the points table. They lost 1–3 to relegation-zone side Leeds United. First-half goals from Xhaka Bizla and Ao Tanaka put Leeds ahead. Pedro Neto pulled one back in the 50th minute, but in the 72nd minute, Calvert-Lewin scored again, shutting down Chelsea’s hopes of a comeback. After the loss, Chelsea remains fourth with 24 points.

Arsenal stays on top
Arsenal remains unbeaten for 18 consecutive matches across all competitions. Manager Mikel Arteta fielded a team with several key players rested, but Arsenal still secured a comfortable win against Brentford. Mikel Merino scored the opener in the 11th minute. Bukayo Saka added a second in the final minute. With this win, Arsenal stay at the top with 33 points.
