With the launch of its next flagship lineup just days away, Samsung Electronics has confirmed a major expansion of its Galaxy AI platform, announcing the integration of Perplexity across upcoming Galaxy devices, starting with the Galaxy S26 series.

The company described the move as part of a broader shift toward a multi-agent AI ecosystem designed to make everyday device interactions faster and more intuitive. Samsung said the new setup would allow different AI tools to work together rather than operate in isolation.

In a press note released ahead of the launch, Samsung pointed to changing user behaviour to explain the decision. “Nearly eight in ten users now rely on more than two types of AI agents,” the company said, adding that people increasingly expect AI to assist with routine tasks across apps and services.

Perplexity to work across Samsung’s core apps

Under the new system, Perplexity will function as an additional AI agent embedded directly into Samsung’s software layer. The chatbot will be available across several first-party apps, including Samsung Notes, Clock, Gallery, Calendar and Reminder, along with selected third-party applications.

Users will be able to activate the assistant by saying “Hey Plex” or by pressing and holding the side button, similar to how existing Galaxy AI features are accessed. Because the service is integrated at the system level, Samsung said responses will be more contextual, drawing from a user’s on-device activity and app usage rather than operating as a standalone chatbot.

Won-Joon Choi, President, Chief Operating Officer and Head of the R&D Office for Samsung’s Mobile eXperience business, said the goal was to give users greater flexibility in how they complete complex tasks.

"Galaxy AI acts as an orchestrator, bringing together different forms of AI into a single, natural and cohesive experience," Choi added in a statement.

Galaxy S26 launch event to feature AI push

Although Samsung has not announced the list of supported devices, the feature is expected to arrive with the Galaxy S26 series, which will reportedly consist of three models: the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26 Plus and Galaxy S26 Ultra.

On February 25, 2026, the lineup will be revealed, and Galaxy AI is anticipated to be the main attraction. According to analysts, Samsung's goals to go beyond the constraints of single-assistant interfaces and create a more complete on-device intelligence that incorporates search, planning, and execution capabilities across several apps are reflected in the cooperation with Perplexity.
