What began as a festive atmosphere turned tragic when the bodies of two sisters, Shobha (25) and Vimla (23), were found in Manai village in Jodhpur. Police said the two women had allegedly consumed a poisonous substance. Family members rushed them to a nearby private hospital, but doctors declared them dead on arrival. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.
What happened on the night before the wedding
ADCP (West) Roshan Meena underlined that, before the wedding day, everything was positive, all the preparations and wedding celebration had happened until late Friday night, he points out that the two bride to their room to sleep. He also said, "At about 4 am, their health suddenly deteriorated, prompting family members to take them to a private hospital. They were declared dead on arrival, and their bodies were brought back home, where funeral preparations began."
Funeral preparations were halted after police arrived at the scene upon receiving information about the incident. The bodies were sent to the mortuary for post-mortem examination and later handed over to the family. While the exact cause of death will be confirmed after the post-mortem report, preliminary investigations suggest that the sisters may have died after consuming poison. No suicide note has been recovered from the spot so far.
