The Bangladesh national military has gone through a major change at the top level under the new rule of the BNP government. Earlier, the party's leader, Tarique Rahman took oath as the Prime Minister after a landslide win in the 13th Parliamentary election. The change in the top posts of the south asian nation's armed forces has signalled a rapid administrative reshuffle.
The shift has prompted a change in multiple key strategic commands of the country, ranging from foreign affairs to the country’s premier military intelligence agency.

Bangladesh Prime Minister visits Armed Forces Division
The Prime Minister, for the first time, attended the office at the Armed Forces Division located at Dhaka Cantonment on Monday. Where he adorned Lieutenant General Mir Mushfiqur Rahman and Major General Kaiser Rashid Chowdhury with their new rank badges, according to a Dhaka Tribune report.
New DGFI chief and key changes in senior military posts
Previously serving as a brigadier general at Army Headquarters, Major General Kaiser Rashid Chowdhury has been given the responsibility of director general of the Directorate General of Forces Intelligence (DGFI).
Lieutenant General Mir Mushfiqur Rahman has been chosen to hold the office of The principal staff officer (PSO), replacing Lieutenant General SM Kamrul Hasan, who has been sent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as an ambassador.
Major General Mohammad Jahangir Alam has been appointed as an ambassador under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The rank, Chief of the General Staff (CGS), has been assigned to Lieutenant General M Mainur Rahman. Rahman was the chief of General Officer Commanding (GOC) of Army Training and Doctrine Command (ARTDOC).
Major General JM Imdadul Islam has been appointed as the Commandant of the East Bengal Regimental Centre (EBRC). Earlier, he was the head of the 55th Infantry Division.
The General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 55th Infantry Division has been entrusted to the former defence adviser at the Bangladesh High Commission in India, Brigadier General Mohammad Hafizur Rahman.
According to the report, the ceremony was also attended by the Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Mohammad Nazmul Hassan, and Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan.
