iPhone users often rely on Live Photos to capture fleeting moments without switching to video mode. What many don’t realise is that Apple allows these short Live Photo clips to be merged into one continuous video using the built-in Photos app with no extra apps required.

This feature is useful for turning scattered moments from a trip, family gathering or daily routine into a single, shareable video file in just a few taps.

Where to find live photos on iPhone

To start, first open the Photos app on your iPhone or iPad. Then tap Collections at the bottom, scroll down to Media Types, and select Live Photos. This section displays all Live Photos stored on the device.

Tap Select in the top-right corner and choose the Live Photos you want to combine. Each selected image will show a tick mark.

How to save multiple live photos as one video

Once your Live Photos are selected, tap the three-dot menu in the top-right corner. From the options that appear, select Save as Video. The Photos app will automatically stitch the selected Live Photos into a single video file. The process usually takes only a few seconds.

Where the video is saved

After the video is created, it appears in the Library and also under Videos in Media Types. The file is dated according to when the original Live Photos were taken, so it may not appear at the very top unless the library is sorted by date added.

Things to keep in mind

Live Photos are arranged in the video by the time they were taken, not by the order in which they were selected

Each clip plays back its original motion, joined into one continuous sequence

Once saved, the video can be edited, shared or exported like any other video file

This built-in option makes it easy for iPhone users to turn short Live Photo moments into a single video without installing third-party tools.
