Amidst the nationwide disruptions by IndiGo, a viral video from an airport, shows a father pleading with airlines staff for a sanitary pad for his daughter as hours of flight delays left them stuck in transit. The man is seen walking up to the customer assistance manager and repeating, "Mere beti ko pad chahiye… niche se khoon aa raha hai."

Despite his obvious panic, the ground staff seems unperturbed at first, in the video. As the father raises his voice louder and advances, asking for help, the manager says, “Sir, hum aisa nahi kar sakte,” escalating tension at the already packed service counter. Other passengers on the premises can also be heard complaining about long delays, miscommunication, and a lack of basic assistance.

Day four of severe disruptions

This incident has come as IndiGo passengers across the country continued to face severe inconvenience for the fourth consecutive day on Friday, December 5, 2025. The delays and cancellations by the airline snowballed into widespread operational chaos.

Until midnight on Friday, all of IndiGo's departures at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport were cancelled. Meanwhile, Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru reported at least 102 flight cancellations earlier in the day. Other airports in the country also reported similar disruptions from the carrier, as it battled to maintain schedules.

IndiGo cautions delays may stretch for days

IndiGo has told the Directorate General of Civil Aviation that delays and cancellations are likely to continue for three more days. The airline plans to cut flights starting December 8 to stabilise operations.

According to a report by Free Press Journal, IndiGo expects full normalcy only by February 10, 2026, and has sought exemption from reduced night flying hour norms till then. DGCA will consider the request in the coming days, DGCA told.

Regulator seeks detailed roadmap

The DGCA has directed IndiGo to submit a detailed plan outlining how it intends to manage crew recruitment, aircraft induction, training schedules, and roster restructuring to prevent a repeat of such large-scale disruptions. Meanwhile, the video of the pleading father has intensified public criticism, as many question how essential passenger needs went unmet during prolonged delays.
