As the celebrations of Dol and Holi conclude, political activity is expected to intensify on the streets of Kolkata, potentially disrupting traffic movement across several parts of the city.
Multiple political processions are scheduled to take place on Thursday in different areas of Kolkata. According to the Kolkata Traffic Police, these rallies may cause congestion on several major roads, particularly in central Kolkata. The traffic department has issued an advisory listing routes that may experience heavy vehicular pressure during the day.

A political procession is scheduled to begin around 12 noon in central Kolkata. The rally will move through Nirmal Chandra Street, Rafi Ahmed Kidwai Road and SN Banerjee Road, which could affect traffic movement along the Moulali–Dharmatala corridor.
Several rallies across the city may affect key routes
Another procession is scheduled to start from Sealdah at 12:30 PM and proceed towards College Square. The route will pass through Bidyapati Bridge, AJC Bose Road and Mahatma Gandhi Road, before entering College Street.
Around 1 PM, a separate rally is expected to take place along Rani Rashmoni Avenue. According to police sources, approximately 500 to 600 people may participate in the procession. It will begin from Statesman House in Dharmatala and move towards Dorina Crossing.
Later in the afternoon, at 2:30 PM, another procession will travel through Rafi Ahmed Kidwai Road and SN Banerjee Road, ending again at Dorina Crossing. Traffic congestion is likely around the Dharmatala area during this period.

In addition to the rallies, an Indian Super League (ISL) football match between East Bengal and FC Goa is scheduled to take place on Thursday evening at Yuva Bharati Krirangan in Salt Lake.
Due to the expected crowd of football supporters heading to the stadium, traffic pressure may increase on EM Bypass, Beleghata Main Road and Narkeldanga Main Road, the traffic police said.
Motorists have been advised to plan their journeys in advance and consider alternative routes to avoid delays.
