The cost of doing business is significantly lower compared to other cities in the country, and Kolkata also has multiple exceptional talents—this was recently stated by a section of the business community at the annual meeting of CII West Bengal. According to them, the city is gradually becoming important in India's Global Capability Centre (GCC) ecosystem map as well. This is making Kolkata an emerging market.

A section of the business community informed at that discussion meeting that the country's GCC landscape is at the threshold of a new phase. New talents will emerge from there. As a result, they will be able to create value in various industries of the country on a long-term basis, which will help in the growth of the country's industries.

At Monday's discussion meeting, CII West Bengal inaugurated the GCC Council. It was learned that the council authorities will discuss policy-related matters of Kolkata's GCC companies and convey them to the state government. CII West Bengal is their partner in this work.

Former national cricket captain and current CAB president Sourav Ganguly was present at CII's annual meeting. He said, "Sports and business: both are team games. The people you work with are extremely important. If there is any best investment beyond resources, it is the employees. They are the ones who take the organisation forward." Also present at the event was Prasun Mukherjee, chairman of Universal Success Enterprises Private Limited. He said, "We are building a ₹2,000 crore data centre in Bengal Silicon Valley. AI infrastructure will be used there, which is going to be important for the state's economy in the coming days."
