Bangladesh's interim government has taken the murder case of Inqilab Mancha leader Sharif Osman Hadi to the United Nations, seeking an international investigation. The development was confirmed in a statement issued on Sunday by the country's interim government leader, Muhammad Yunus’s press wing.

Bangladesh Seeks UN Human Rights Body’s Assistance
According to the statement, Bangladesh has formally sought assistance from the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) to ensure investigation and justice in the Hadi murder case. Acting on instructions from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a note verbale was sent to the OHCHR last Friday, February 6.
The press wing said any response received from the OHCHR will be communicated to the Foreign Ministry. It also reiterated the interim government’s commitment to identifying those responsible and bringing the perpetrators to justice under the law.
Sharif Osman Hadi Shot in Dhaka, Dies in Singapore
Sharif Osman Hadi was shot on December 12 when assailants arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire on him in Dhaka’s Box Culvert Road area before fleeing the scene. He sustained a gunshot wound to the head.

After receiving initial treatment in Bangladesh, Hadi was shifted to Singapore for advanced medical care. However, he succumbed to his injuries on the night of December 18.
His death triggered widespread protests across Bangladesh and raised serious questions about law and order under the interim government.
