Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office was reportedly targeted in a missile strike by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on Monday, which the group described as a "surprise" attack also aimed at the location of the Israeli Air Force commander. The IRGC said Netanyahu’s fate is "unclear" following the strike.

"The office of the criminal Israeli PM, Netanyahu and the location of the regime’s Air Force commander were struck in targeted and surprise attacks by Kheybar Shekan ballistic missiles during the 10th wave," the IRGC said in a statement, as quoted by The Economic Times.

The announcement comes amid the broader Israel‑Iran conflict, which intensified after a joint US–Israeli operation killed Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei over the weekend. In response, Tehran and its allied militias have launched missiles and drones at Israeli cities and US bases across the Gulf.

Iran nuclear concerns amid escalation

At the same time, IAEA chief Rafael Grossi described the situation surrounding Iran’s nuclear facilities as "very concerning", warning that a "possible radiological release could have serious consequences, including the necessity to evacuate areas as large or larger than major cities". He added that "efforts to contact the Iranian nuclear regulatory authorities … continue, with no response so far".

Iran's ambassador to the IAEA, Reza Najafi, reiterated that US and Israeli forces attacked Iranian nuclear sites yesterday, specifying that the Natanz facility was hit. Israel has not confirmed the strike on Natanz or Netanyahu’s office.

Hezbollah joins the conflict in escalating Iran-Israel war

Israel and Hezbollah, the Iran-backed militant group, traded strikes early Monday after the collapse of a fragile yearlong truce. Explosions rocked the outskirts of Beirut, Lebanon’s capital, while Israel’s military chief of staff urged residents to prepare for a prolonged conflict. Hezbollah said its rocket launches were retaliation for the death of Ayatollah Khamenei, while Israel responded by striking Hezbollah-affiliated sites south of Beirut. Lebanese authorities reported at least 31 fatalities from the airstrikes.
