His powerful fifty, decorated with seven sixes, outmuscled KKR and led them to their straight four loss of the season. The MS Dhoni fan boy has always dreamt of an evening like this, and to make it more special, he was awarded the man of the match trophy, which provided LSG a crucial win in the early phase of the tournament.
The Mukul Choudhary story
After winning the match with absolute intensity, he dedicated this win to his father, who long ago thought of making his son a cricketer. As quoted by Cricbuzz, he said, "I dedicate this to my father. Even before he got married, he always thought of making his son a cricketer. My father had a dream that his son had to play cricket."

Mukul’s career is heavily driven by his father, who believed that to become a cricketer, someone has to be an athlete at first. Dalip Mukul Choudhary’s father trained him daily, focusing first on fitness and discipline. Leaving behind his own ambitions in civil services, Dalip turned to business to support the dream. Financial struggles grew, forcing him to sell his house and land, relocate from Jhunjhunu to Sikar and later Jaipur, and take loans worth crores. Despite hardships, he ensured Mukul never lacked training or care, staying by his side for years. Today, Dalip dreams of repaying every debt and rebuilding a home, fulfilled by his son’s rising success.
Despite featuring in just three IPL matches so far, Mukul made a strong impression on scouts during last season’s Under-23 List A tournament. He topped the run charts with 617 runs in nine games and also smashed a record 39 sixes. That power-hitting ability was evident again at Eden Gardens, where he played a match-winning unbeaten 54 off just 24 balls, clearing the ropes seven times.
