In the midst of the fresh spurt of tensions between Israel and Iran that have disrupted air travel in the West Asian region, Indian airline SpiceJet has announced a list of special flights from the United Arab Emirates to India for stranded travellers.

The move comes after widespread flight cancellations and airspace restrictions affected travel across the region, leaving many Indian travellers stuck in the Gulf.

Airspace restrictions disrupt flights

The tensions between Israel and Iran have caused disruptions to air travel plans in various parts of West Asia, with airspace closures and changes affecting flight routes. Air travel between India and Gulf nations had to be cancelled or changed by various airlines flying on this route.

To address the situation, SpiceJet has announced the addition of flights from Fujairah and Dubai to major Indian cities. These flights will operate between the UAE and Mumbai, Delhi, and Pune, to clear the backlog of passengers stranded due to the cancellation of flights.

Anyone in the UAE can check the schedule of these special flights on the official website of SpiceJet or on other booking sites. The Ministry of Civil Aviation has taken these steps in response to the problem caused by the cancellation of flights, and airlines are rescheduling flights to help stranded passengers.

Conflict continues to escalate

The Israel-Iran-US conflict continues into the seventh day of the war. Israeli forces gave the signal for the beginning of the next stage of the war by carrying out air strikes in the southern outskirts of Beirut, according to AFP reports.

Tensions in the region were heightened after the US-Israeli strike that killed Iran’s top leader, Ali Khamenei. This was followed by a series of missile attacks, air strikes, naval conflicts, and the hardening of political positions in the US.
