Cristiano Ronaldo has suffered a hamstring tendon injury, his club Al Nassr confirmed on Tuesday. However, the injury is not considered serious, and the Portugal star is expected to return before the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
According to reports, Ronaldo could be out of action for around two to four weeks. The 39-year-old forward picked up the injury during Al Nassr’s 3-1 victory over Al Fayha on Saturday.

Ronaldo appeared to be in visible discomfort late in the match. It was already a frustrating night for him as he missed a penalty in the 12th minute. In the 81st minute, he signalled to the bench and was substituted by Abdullah Al-Hamdan.
Despite the setback, Ronaldo remains Al Nassr’s top goalscorer this season with 21 goals.
Upcoming matches in Almeria
Al Nassr are scheduled to face Neom SC and Al Khaleej in March. Meanwhile, Portugal have international friendlies against Mexico and the United States later this month, which Ronaldo is expected to miss due to the injury. Recently, Ronaldo also expanded his involvement in football off the field by buying a stake in Spanish second-division club UD Almeria.

In a statement, Ronaldo said it had long been his ambition to contribute to football beyond his playing career. He described Almeria as a club with strong foundations and clear growth potential.
The club has been under Saudi ownership for more than six years. Mohamed Al-Khereiji became the owner and president of Almeria in the summer of 2025 after purchasing the club from Turki Al Alsheikh. Al-Khereiji welcomed Ronaldo’s investment, saying the Portuguese star understands Spanish football well and recognises the potential of the club, both in terms of the first team and its academy.
