The Finance Ministry and Reserve Bank of India (RBI) have jointly started work on creating a single digital portal. Through this portal, common people will be able to claim all financial assets lying unclaimed in banks, including deposits, pension funds, shares, dividends and insurance-related matters.

Financial Services Department Secretary M Nagaraju announced this on Thursday at a mega camp titled 'Aapki Punji, Aapka Adhikar' organised by Punjab National Bank.

He said that this integrated portal is being developed by connecting all regulatory bodies through the RBI's mediation, and it is expected to be launched very soon.

Currently, claims for unclaimed financial assets have to be made through separate portals – RBI's 'Udgam', SEBI's 'Mitra' and IRDAI's 'Bima Bharosa'.

Once the new portal is launched, all types of claims can be made from a single portal, which will make the entire process simpler, more transparent and reliable.
