After reading the news in 'Ei Samay', an elderly couple from Begampur in Hooghly and their school teacher son stood by athletic Bulti Roy, a housewife from an impoverished family in Tarakeshwar. They became concerned after reading about Bulti's achievements and her family's destitute condition in the newspaper. They came straight to Bulti Roy's house.

They verified whether her condition was truly worrying. Whether she had really won 18 gold medals or over 100 silver medals. Upon arrival, they were truly shocked! Could such a high-level athlete's condition be like this? Due to financial constraints, she cannot participate in the 'World Masters Games' in Abu Dhabi on February 5, 2026.

The elderly couple from Begampur are Bhairabhnath Das and Manasi Das. Their son Partha Das is currently a teacher. After reading this news, especially Manasi's heart cried out. She announced that she would give one lakh rupees from her savings. They directly informed 'Ei Samay' about this intention. After this, she came straight to the Joykrishna Bazar area in Tarakeshwar and reached athlete Bulti Roy's house. Partha spoke with Bulti. After this, he handed over a cheque of one lakh rupees to Bulti. Later, he also assured her of giving more.

According to Manasi, “Look, I am 75 years old, my husband is 85 and my son is 46. I have had many experiences in life. My husband was an officer in the Public Works Department. Bulti's mother's condition has deeply pained me. I told my son, go son, give it to Bulti's mother, who is the pride of the country. I won't go into who should have done what. I'll just say, stand by Bulti”.

According to Partha, “Mother was getting restless. After giving the money, she became calm. And truly, it is very necessary to stand by Bulti.”

Bulti Roy says, “I went to district Police Superintendent Kamanashis Sen. Without any hesitation, he handed over 50 thousand rupees cash to me. I was amazed by this too. I am grateful to Parthababu and his parents. Additionally, Singur police station OC Sudipta Sadhukhan gave me 25 thousand rupees to buy shoes.”

She also added, “Chanditala police station OC Anilraj bears all expenses including my three months' food, house rent and other costs. I will remain forever grateful to them too. If the district administration or MLAs, MPs stand by me, then my dream of going to Abu Dhabi for World Masters Games '26 will be fulfilled.”
