The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) has issued a clarification after concerns surfaced over a few questions in the Mathematics Semester IV Higher Secondary examination held on February 19, 2026.

The Council was notified soon after the examination that a few questions in the Mathematics paper were allegedly beyond the prescribed syllabus. Taking cognisance of the complaints raised, the matter was promptly reviewed in consultation with subject experts to verify the claims.

However, in a move aimed at safeguarding students’ interests, it has been decided that all examinees who attempted those questions will be awarded full marks.
