The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education has introduced several measures to be followed during the February 2026 Higher Secondary (Class 12) examinations scheduled for February 2026. The steps are aimed at ensuring that the exams remain uninterrupted and smooth.

CCTV installation made compulsory

As per the latest instructions, all Higher Secondary examination centres must install CCTV cameras. Key areas, such as the main gate and confidential rooms containing exam materials, need to have cameras.

Centre in-charges have been directed to ensure that all cameras are functioning during the time of the exam. All CCTV footage would be stored till April 30, 2026.

Exam schedule and monitoring

The WB HS 2026 examinations will be conducted between February 12th and February 27th, 2026. With the CCTV surveillance system in place, the council aims to increase the level of examination monitoring and prevent any malpractices.

Enhanced security checks at entry points

In addition to surveillance, there are some stricter security arrangements that have been put in place. All candidates will undergo frisking with metal detectors before entering the examination centres. This will be done both by teaching and non-teaching staff, in the presence of police personnel. Police will step in only if there is a law-and-order issue or any disturbance.
