Dubai-based travel influencer Anunay Sood’s death in Las Vegas is now being probed as a possible drug overdose, according to early details from a preliminary report by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD).
Sood, 32, was found unresponsive in his room at the Wynn Las Vegas on November 4. Hindustan Times reported that police officers discovered a small bag containing a white substance near his body, prompting investigators to examine whether narcotics were involved.

Police account point to possible cocaine purchase
As per the report, Sood was accompanied by his fiancée Shivani Parihar and another woman. The police report states that the group allegedly met a man around 4 a.m. to buy what they believed was cocaine, which they reportedly consumed after returning to their hotel room.
When the two women woke up around 5 a.m., they found Sood unconscious. Officers attempted CPR and administered five doses of Narcan, but he was declared dead at 7:23 a.m., Times of India reported.
Investigators recovered a rolled $100 bill and a clear bag containing a white substance from the scene, as detailed in the police account quoted by Hindustan Times. Officials have said toxicology results are still awaited, and the Clark County Coroner’s Office has not yet confirmed the cause of death.

Sood’s family confirmed his passing on November 6 through a post on his official Instagram account, requesting privacy and urging fans not to gather near their residence.
Known for his travel photography and global journeys, Sood had visited 46 countries and ran a Dubai-based digital marketing agency. His work appeared in CN Traveller India, NatGeo India, and Lonely Planet India. He was also featured in Forbes India’s Top 100 Digital Stars for three consecutive years, according to Hindustan Times.
