The teaser of another war drama, Border 2, directed by Anurag Singh and starring Sunny Deol play the main protagonist, was out yesterday, bringing in waves of opinion largely around the visual effects. As usual, netizens used their social media platforms to the fullest to express their likes and dislikes. Though the teaser is backed by a star-studded cast featuring Varun Dhawan, Ahan Shetty, and Diljit Dosanjh, the response online appears to be unanimous.

Netizens’ reaction

Largely, X handle users have projected their disappointment. One user stated that a war film set to release in 2026 with such visuals is intolerable, calling the teaser loud and jingoistic. Another X handle commented, “Film set in 1971, Visual Effects also set in 1971.”-

Another user asked everyone to keep everything aside and requested filmmakers to start taking VFX seriously, especially in films mounted on such a scale.

The user further added that, barring SunnyDeol’s thunderous dialogue delivery, the Border 2 teaser fell flat and looked poor visually. The handle also pointed out that expectations were high considering the cult following of the first part, adding that box office-wise, the film is still likely to be a fire.

Sharing a much harsher take, another X handle wrote, “Border 2 has 3rd class VFX, cringe dialogues and flop nepo kids. This is a pathetic attempt at cashing in on nostalgia. Also, I really don’t have patience for another ‘Indo-Pak’ film right after Dhurandhar. I’ll save money for Dhurandhar 2.”

The audience seems largely let down by the teaser, with a few calling it a calculated product that lacks honour for sacrifice, while for others it comes across as an amalgamation of excessive use of unfinished CGI.

Overall, the response on X indicates that viewers are being quite critical of the Border 2 teaser, with visual effects emerging as the biggest point of concern.
