Bollywood filmmaker Farah Khan dropped by Kunickaa Sadanand’s house for her latest cooking vlog, and of course, she brought along her ever-funny cook, Dilip. Things went hilariously off script when Dilip jokingly suggested marrying off Kunickaa’s son, Ayaan Lall, to his sister-in-law, but he didn’t stop there.

He added, “Aap mummy ki pasand se hi shaadi karna. Agar aap apni pasand se karoge toh dekhne toh jaaoge makeup mein aur baad mein raat mein bhaag jaaoge. (Get married only to someone your mother chooses. If you marry someone of your own choice, you’ll go just to see her all dressed up in makeup, and then run away at night later.)

Kunickaa and Ayaan were in splits, and Farah, acting all shocked, exclaimed, “Main toh ye line bhi nahi boli, yeh khud bol gaya. (I didn’t even say this line — he said it himself.)"

A bond beyond the kitchen

Over dinner, Ayaan made sure Dilip wasn’t left out and pulled him into a mini question round, curiously asking about his bond with Farah. Dilip shared that it was actually Farah who kick-started their YouTube journey, hinting at how their now viral cooking vlogs began. When Kunickaa asked about their relationship, Farah playfully warned him, “Don’t say it’s a mother-son thing.” Dilip, with a smile, said it straight from the heart, “Bahut achha hai. Maa ke jaisa hi karti hai yeh,” making it clear that Farah treats him like family, not just a cook.

From vlogs to life-changing support

Farah brought her cooking vlogs to life in 2024 while waiting to kick off her next film, and the chemistry with Dilip quickly stole hearts. But their bond? It’s way more than just cameras and camera lights.

Farah cleared Dilip’s debts, helped him build a house through brand deals, enrolled his kids in English medium schools, and even sent one of his sons for a culinary diploma. Today, Dilip isn’t just a name in the kitchen; he’s appeared in ads and even shared screen space with stars like Shah Rukh Khan, all thanks to this quirky, heartwarming duo.
