IIT Bombay’s Techfest 2025 saw an unexpected twist when a humanoid robot took the stage, catching audiences off guard with a live dance performance to the viral track ‘Fa9la’.

What did the viral clip show?

What began as a routine tech demonstration quickly turned into a jaw-dropping spectacle as the robot grooved effortlessly to the Arabic-infused beats. Its movements radiated engineering charisma, blending mechanical precision with a performance that felt almost alive. The act was also a nod to the remarkable progress of artificial intelligence, showcasing how AI can now mimic human rhythm, timing, and expression with astonishing accuracy. Phones were instantly raised, capturing a moment where robotics met showmanship in perfect harmony.

Rather than a typical tech-rich demo, the robot delivered a full-blown performance with satisfyingly fluent moves. It didn’t take long for a video of the performance to go viral on Instagram, drawing in reels and shorts across social media. According to the post’s caption, the robot was developed by Bidyut Innovation, highlighting the equal integration of developing code and creative vision that made the performance so impressive.
