Robert Lewandowski, the former Bayern Munich Star and the ace from Poland, is expected to leave for America to play in the MLS season next year. The Polish star is now playing for Barcelona as one of the key senior players, but the inclusion of Marcus Rashford in the setup did not allow him to play all the matches. He was also suffering from injuries this season, for which he had to be benched for most of the season.

In the current La Liga season, Robert Lewandowski is in fourth position in the top scorers list with 8 goals in 12 matches. Despite having injuries, Barca's star played well and helped the team to be in first position in the league. Though there is a strong chance that Barca might leave the stalwart, and there is also a possibility that he might end up playing in MLS, as there are rumours reported by sports media organisations that Lewandowski is attracting strong interest from the MLS side, Chicago Fire.

Lewandowski’s reaction

Polish journalist Bogdan Rymanowski (via Sport) quoted that the star player has not decided anything till now. ā€œI still have time to make a decision. Right now, I don’t know where I want to play. There’s no need to think about it yet. I don’t know which direction to take, but I don’t have any pressure. I am not talking to the coach about interested clubs. It’s not about cutting my salary in half. A lot depends on the club’s plan and what I want.ā€ Lewandowski said.

He also opened up about his injury and ups and downs throughout the season and said, ā€œMaybe I’ll start talking about it in a while, but for now, I also had a difficult start to the season. I was injured twice. It was also difficult for me to get in (the line-up), knowing how many games await us in January, February, and March until the end. I have in mind that probably in the second part of the season it would be good to prepare physically, not have health problems, just give it my all.ā€

His last ambitions in football

Lewandowski expressed that he wants to win the Spanish title and the Champions League. I would like to have it all: to qualify for the World Cup, the Spanish title, and the Champions League. I am aware that these are my last years in football.ā€ He added.

Barcelona will play their next match in La Liga on January 4 against Espanyol from 1.30 AM IST.
