Former KLO member Satish Rajbanshi had returned to the mainstream. He laid down arms, responding to the Chief Minister's call. Now, it is being alleged that two landowners from Gazole allegedly defrauded Rajbanshi of nearly one and a half crore rupees over a land sale. Rajbanshi has complained to the district administration in this respect. The allegation is that the two businessmen took money by citing names of several ruling party members and threatening police action, but are not registering two and a half bighas of land.
Satish Rajbanshi complains to CM Mamata Banerjee
In this incident, the former KLO member is lodging a written complaint with Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, while also complaining to the administration. He said, "Following the Chief Minister's words, I and many like me left the banned organisation KLO and returned to society's mainstream. We planned to buy a place beside the road in Gazole and start a new business. We also planned to sell the remaining land. Several other members and I pooled our money together and invested in the land. But I couldn't imagine that we would fall into such a fraud trap. This has been going on for almost four years. If no action is taken, then perhaps we will have to return to our old path."

Allegation of fraud
Satish Rajbanshi informed the administration that in 2021, he had paid nearly 1 crore 40 lakh rupees to two landowners, residents of Gazole, for two and a half bighas of land beside National Highway 12 adjacent to Gazole College. His home is in the Goalpara area adjacent to Adina Station in Panduya gram panchayat under Gazole police station. He has parents, a wife, and children in his family. Former KLO member Satish Rajbanshi planned to take a loan from the bank and use saved money from several other members to buy land and set up a plant. Even though he gave money four years ago, far from returning it, the landowners are threatening harassment through the police without doing the registry. Rajbanshi alleges, "I had bought two and a half bighas of land by arranging money from my own property and other colleagues. Following the Chief Minister's words, I laid down arms and returned to normal life. But landowners Amit Prasad and Samit Prasad are both still being uncooperative. The land had been fenced with pillars and barbed wire, which have also been torn down. I have informed the administration about this matter. If no initiative is taken, perhaps I will have to return to the previous situation again." When landowner Amit Prasad was contacted by phone, he denied the allegations by saying, "The incident is completely false. The registry of that land was done long ago. I don't know why he is making such allegations now."

Political row over allegation
Political controversy has started over this incident. North Malda BJP's organisational general secretary Abhishek Singhania stated that Trinamool Congress grabs helpless people's land and provides backing to harass them in this manner. Mozammel Hossain, president of the Trinamool-run Gazole panchayat samiti, said, "I don't know what actually happened. But the party will not be involved here in any way. The administration is there for that. If there's a complaint, police will investigate and see." Gazole police station informed that if there's a specific complaint, the matter will definitely be investigated.
