The Traitors Season 2 is officially on its way, with host Karan Johar unveiling the first two contestants of the upcoming reality series. Munawar Faruqui and Mallika Sherawat have been confirmed as the first participants, while the makers also announced that the new season will premiere on August 13.
The announcement came through a new promotional video shared by Karan Johar on Instagram, teasing a bigger and more intense season filled with deception, strategy and betrayal.
Who are the first contestants of The Traitors Season 2?
Introducing the contestants, Karan Johar described the line-up as a “killer” one and revealed that 21 players will compete this season.
The filmmaker introduced Mallika Sherawat with a playful reference to her on-screen persona before calling Munawar Faruqui the “king of reality shows.” The promo also revisited memorable moments from Season 1, featuring contestants including Uorfi Javed, Apoorva Mukhija, Purav Jha and Elnaaz Norouzi.

The teaser hinted that while contestants would compete through strategy and alliances, betrayal would once again remain at the heart of the game.

Hosted by Karan Johar, the reality show is the Indian adaptation of the internationally acclaimed Dutch format De Verraders. Contestants are secretly divided into “Traitors” and “Innocents”, with the former eliminating players while the latter attempt to identify them through discussion and voting.
