BLACKPINK’s Jisoo hints at Bollywood entry while promoting Netflix series, fans erupt online

BLACKPINK’s Jisoo says she would love to make a Bollywood debut while promoting her Netflix series Boyfriend on Demand, sparking fan calls for Sanjay Leela Bhansali and SS Rajamouli to cast her.

K-pop star Jisoo, who is a part of the popular international sensation BLACKPINK, has expressed her desire to feature in Hindi films and fans have quickly started speculating about the possible projects she could collaborate with top Indian filmmakers.

The singer-actor made the statement during the promotions of her new web series "Boyfriend on Demand" alongside co-star Seo In-guk. During the course of the interaction, in which she discussed the possibility of featuring in a Bollywood film, both actors were quick to respond positively, with the singer herself expressing her desire to do so.

"If I’m given the opportunity, I would absolutely love to do it," Seo In-guk said in an interview with India Today. Jisoo echoed the sentiment, adding with a laugh that audiences should “look out” for them if such a chance comes along. The exchange quickly circulated online, especially among Indian fans eager to see the K-pop star explore Hindi cinema.

Fans imagine big Bollywood collaborations

Following these comments, social media fans also discussed who could potentially be the best director to direct Jisoo’s first Bollywood film. Some of them included Sanjay Leela Bhansali and S.S. Rajamouli, who are known for their grand visuals in their films.

Fans also included big banners like Yash Raj and Dharma Productions, speculating that Jisoo’s screen presence could work well for big-budget or period dramas. One fan stated that Jisoo’s elegance and charisma could fit well into Bhansali’s cinematic style.

Expanding acting career

Born on January 3, 1995, Jisoo has continued to grow her acting career, and her success has not gone unnoticed. She started her rise to fame after landing the lead role in the Korean drama series Snowdrop, for which she won the Outstanding Korean Actress award at the Seoul International Drama Awards.

Jisoo continued her acting career by taking up the lead role in the zombie thriller Newtopia, released in 2025, and her big-screen debut in Omniscient Reader: The Prophecy, released the same year.

Her latest project, Boyfriend on Demand, premiered on Netflix on March 6 and stars Jisoo as Seo Mi-rae, a webtoon producer navigating modern relationships through a virtual dating service. Seo In-guk plays her colleague and romantic counterpart, Park Kyeong-nam. Directed by Kim Jung-sik and written by Namgung Do-young, the 10-episode series blends AI-driven romance with workplace drama and humour.
