The trailer of Aditya Dhar’s upcoming film Dhurandhar: The Revenge, also known as Dhurandhar 2 is out, giving audiences a glimpse of the next chapter in the high-octane spy saga. The film is set to arrive in theatres on March 19.
The trailer marks the return of Ranveer Singh as Jaskirat Singh Rangi, whose story continues after the events of the 2025 film Dhurandhar. The footage suggests that the sequel will pick up directly from where the first film ended, expanding the conflict between intelligence agencies and terror networks operating across borders.
In the trailer, Jaskirat appears to be rising within the ranks of the Lyari underworld, with characters referring to him as the next “Lyari ka badshah” (king of Lyari). The preview also hints at a deeper infiltration plot as he works from within the organisation to dismantle a larger terror outfit.
The action-packed montage is set against a remixed version of Bombay Rockers’ track “Ari Ari”, and concludes with the character declaring, “Now India will decide the future of Pakistan,” signalling the film’s continuation of the political and espionage themes explored in the first part.
Story continues from the first film
Released on December 5, 2025, Dhurandhar went on to become a major commercial success despite receiving mixed reviews from critics. According to trade reports, the film grossed over ₹1300 crore worldwide during its theatrical run.
The story followed an Indian spy who infiltrates a Baloch militant network led by Akshaye Khanna’s Rahman Dakait. The climax revealed that the character Hamza was actually Jaskirat Singh Rangi, sent undercover by intelligence officer Ajay Sanyal, played by R Madhavan. The first film also featured Sanjay Dutt as SP Chaudhary Aslam, Arjun Rampal as Major Iqbal, Sara Arjun as Yalina Jamali and Rakesh Bedi as Jameel Jamal.
The sequel is expected to explore the fallout from Rahman Dakait’s death and Jaskirat’s deeper role inside the criminal network.
Release window opens up for the sequel
When the release date for Dhurandhar 2 was announced late last year, the film was initially set for a box-office clash with Yash’s Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups.

However, the makers of Toxic later postponed its release to June, reportedly due to uncertainty caused by the ongoing US-Israel-Iran conflict, which has affected film distribution plans in Gulf markets. With that change, Dhurandhar 2 now enters theatres with relatively less competition across most regions. The sequel will also be released in South Indian languages, expanding its reach beyond the Hindi-speaking market.
The film may still face competition in the Telugu states from Pawan Kalyan’s Ustaad Bhagat Singh, while other March releases such as Ram Charan’s Peddi and Nani’s The Paradise have reportedly shifted their release dates.
