Come January 9 and director H. Vinoth's movie 'Jana Nayagan' is all set to rock the box office. The movie starring Vijay, Pooja Hegde and Mamitha Baiju has been set up in a political and action-drama setting.
However, the film, built on a humongous budget of about Rs 400 crore, has now landed in a sea of trouble, leaving its fans and makers disheartened. With only three days left for its launch now, the makers have landed in a soup and are making all efforts to obtain the certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

In what came as the latest update on January 6 regarding the censor certificate, the CBFC has informed the Madras High Court that the movie will be reviewed again; this time by a newly-appointed committee.
Some people are of the opinion that this delay is being intentionally caused to tarnish Vijay's image, who is bidding adieu to the Indian cinema with this movie.
Certification filed on December 19, 2025
The makers say that they filed for certification on December 19 after which the CBFC officials saw the movie and suggested some cuts and other edits which were duly complied with by the filmmakers. However, even after the film was re-submitted after edits, the delay was not addressed. Now, according to a Times of India report, the makers are mulling legal options to address the delay.
