Bengali film cinematographer Soumyadeep Guin, widely known in the industry as Vicky, was found hanging in his south Kolkata residence on Sunday. According to a Kolkata Police official, he was 40 years old.
Family members discovered his body in his room around noon. While an investigation is underway, officers are not ruling out the possibility of suicide. Police plan to speak to the family once they have had some time to recover from the initial shock to understand what may have led to the incident.
As per reports, a police officer said, “We have been told he may not have been getting the kind of projects he had been expecting in recent times, and we are probing that angle as well. We have been told he was suffering from depression, but all angles are being looked into.”
