On Monday, at the Bengal Cricket Academy in Kalyani, the air felt heavier, the applause louder. Bengal U-19 skipper Chandrahas Dash walked off with 332 next to his name. It was his maiden Youth First Class triple hundred, coming off just 319 balls and laced with an astonishing 53 fours and 10 towering sixes.
His innings propelled Bengal to an enormous 628/7 declared in their first innings. Then Bengal’s bowlers unleashed havoc. Chandigarh folded for just 122, with Rohit (5-18) scything through the batting lineup, supported by Ashutosh (2-1) and Agastya Shukla (2-30).
Asked to follow on, Chandigarh finished the day at 17 for no loss, still staring at a mountainous 489-run deficit.

Bengal U-19 head coach Saurasish Lahiri echoed that sentiment, saying, “As a head coach I am glad that he has scored a triple hundred. He has been leading the team from the front. His dedication and work ethic is something I appreciate. The hard work he has put in for the last two years, has finally paid off. It is indeed a special moment and I wish him many more such innings in coming days.”
