Sometimes, the person you love may turn out to be a thorn in your eye. One moment spent with them seems like an eternity, and before you know it-you break up, though you might not want to. But have you ever realised that most breakups happen before winter? It sounds ridiculous, but breakups do have a season. Most people tend to end their relationships at a certain time of the year, usually during the cold months or just before festivals begin.

Winter comes, and with it, a spate of celebrations all over the world-Halloween, Christmas, and New Year in uninterrupted succession. Pressures from the family, financial stresses, relationship tensions congregate at the same time, and it's hard to hold on to the bond. In effect, many break up, which might not be their choice specifically. The breakup season generally starts about two weeks before the winter holidays and lasts until the arrival of spring.

Breakup season is not some sort of social media trend. According to experts, holidays are a time when most people are busy with their families and cannot commit enough time to their partners. Many also do not prefer to share this time with a significant other. At the same time, they start pondering over what changes the new year might bring to their lives. To prevent old relationships from becoming a burden on their mind, people often end things before winter sets in.
