The bodies of four workers were recovered from inside a room. The incident occurred in the Panki industrial area of Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. On Thursday morning, the bodies of these four individuals were recovered from inside the office of an edible oil company in Kanpur. It is learned that after finishing work at night, they fell asleep in the office room itself. A burning coal tray was recovered from the room.
According to police sources, four workers named Amit Verma (32), Sanju Singh (22), Rahul Singh (23) and Daud Ansari (28) worked at the oil factory. All of them belonged to Taukalpur village in Deoria district of Uttar Pradesh. Police arrived at the factory on Thursday morning after receiving information.

Their bodies were recovered after breaking down the room door.
Initial investigation suggests that to protect themselves from the cold, they had closed the doors and windows of the room and slept after lighting a coal fire. With the doors and windows closed, the oxygen supply inside the room was cut off. Meanwhile, lighting the coal fire filled the room with toxic carbon monoxide. As a result, they died of suffocation.
The bodies of the four workers have been sent for post-mortem examination.
The incident has caused intense sensation in the area.
Police said that although it initially appears to be death due to suffocation, the actual cause will be known once the post-mortem report arrives.
