A tragic road accident on the Jaipur–Bikaner National Highway in Rajasthan’s Sikar district claimed four lives and left 27 others injured on Tuesday night. The collision occurred when a sleeper bus travelling from Bikaner towards Jaipur crashed head-on into a truck coming from the opposite direction.
According to the police, four passengers died in the accident, including one victim who succumbed to injuries after being referred to SMS Hospital in Jaipur from the Sikar district hospital. The remaining injured were rushed for medical assistance shortly after the crash. Fifteen passengers have been admitted to the Sikar district hospital with varying degrees of injuries, while thirteen others received preliminary treatment at Fatehgarh.

Officials confirmed that the group on the bus was returning to Gujarat after completing a visit to Jammu and Kashmir when the accident took place.
The police are currently investigating the circumstances that led to the head-on collision. Initial reports indicate that both vehicles suffered severe frontal damage due to the impact.
The incident has once again brought attention to the rising number of fatal highway accidents in the region, with authorities urging more caution on busy interstate routes.
