The BJP-led Mahayuti alliance has achieved a massive victory in the municipal and panchayat elections in Maharashtra. While congratulating the state's residents, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke about the triumph of development. Thanking the people of Maharashtra for Sunday's resounding victory, Modi wrote on his X handle, "The people of Maharashtra have firmly stood in favour of development."

Mahayuti's thumping win
The results of the election were declared on Sunday. Out of 288 municipalities and nagar panchayats in Maharashtra, 207 municipalities were won by Mahayuti. Congress-led Mahavikas Aghadi's tally stopped at 44.
This victory holds special significance for the BJP. Among the Mahayuti alliance partners, the BJP alone won 117 municipalities, Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena won 53, and the NCP secured 37. NCP had contested 80 seats in total and won 37.

As a congratulatory message for that victory, Narendra Modi wrote in his X post, "I am indebted to the people of Maharashtra for placing their trust in BJP and Mahayuti in the municipality and municipal corporation elections. This result is a reflection of the faith people have in our people-centric development approach. We are committed to working to fulfill the aspirations of every citizen in the state. I commend all the workers of BJP and Mahayuti who worked at the ground level."
