At least seven people have died and more than 20 others injured in a private passenger bus accident in which the vehicle struck a parked truck near Vadodara in Gujarat.

The accident took place in the early hours of the morning on a highway and resulted in a large rescue effort.

Highway accident turns deadly

When the bus was approaching Ahmedabad, it hit a truck that apparently had been parked along the road, police officials told the Hindustan Times. The crash was quite devastating, with several people inside the car who were trapped.

Emergency services were immediately notified of the accident and ran to the scene. Rescuers and the locals scrambled through the debris to extricate passengers from the wreckage.

Rescue and medical response

Police officials stated, the bus was travelling towards Ahmedabad when it rammed into a truck that had reportedly been parked on the roadside. The impact of the collision was severe, leaving several passengers trapped inside the mangled vehicle.
