HAL calls Tejas crash an ‘isolated incident’, says no impact on operations or deliveries

HAL has clarified that the Tejas crash at the Dubai Airshow was an isolated incident under exceptional circumstances, with no impact on its operations, financials or future deliveries.

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has issued a formal clarification after speculative reports attempted to link the recent Tejas crash at the Dubai Airshow to the company’s business prospects. The clarification came after a post by journalist Akash Sharma shared HAL’s official statement, which stressed that the incident should not be misinterpreted or used to cast doubts on the programme.

According to HAL, the crash which occurred during an aerial display and resulted in the death of the Indian Air Force pilot was an “isolated occurrence arising out of exceptional circumstances.” HAL said it is extending full cooperation to the investigation teams and will keep stakeholders informed about any material developments.

Crash will not affect business, financials or deliveries: HAL

In its communication to exchanges, HAL assured that the company’s operations remain fully stable.

The statement noted that there is no impact on business operations, financial performance or future deliveries, underlining that the Tejas programme continues as planned.

The company said it is working closely with the agencies probing the crash, which includes Indian and local aviation authorities in the UAE. The official clarification was issued to counter speculation linking the accident to HAL’s order book and export prospects.

The Dubai Airshow crash triggered intense commentary because it came at a time when India is pushing for more international interest in the LCA Tejas. HAL has reaffirmed that investigations will determine the technical cause, and it will support the process throughout.

The clarification emphasised that the company remains committed to transparency and will update stakeholders as the inquiry progresses.
