A horrific road accident in Tamil Nadu. At least 8 people died and 28 were injured in a head-on collision between two buses. The accident occurred on Monday morning in Tenkasi of Tamil Nadu.
Police said a passenger bus was travelling from Madurai to Senkottai. The other was going from Tenkasi to Kovilpatti. The two buses came face-to-face in Tenkasi itself. One bus was completely mangled due to the collision. The condition of the other is also deplorable.
Eyewitnesses alleged that the Senkottai-bound bus was travelling recklessly. It lost control and hit the other bus. They alleged that 6 people died as a result. 28 passengers were seriously injured and have been taken to the local hospital. The death toll is expected to rise further.
Tamil Nadu is already fighting with natural disaster. Tirunelveli and Tenkasi districts are flooded due to heavy rains. Amid this, a fatal road accident has occurred.
