With medical expenses increasing in the country, Ayushman Bharat Yojana continues to remain one of the largest public health insurance schemes that provides economic safety to the economically weaker sections of society.
As per the rules of the scheme, individuals eligible for the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY) benefit can claim coverage worth up to ₹5 lakh per year.
However, one has to generate an Ayushman Bharat card before being able to take benefits of these services, which can be done either online or offline from authorised government centers.
What is the Ayushman Bharat scheme?
Ayushman Bharat, also known as PM-JAY, was launched by the Government of India to provide free health insurance coverage to low-income and vulnerable households identified through the Socio-Economic Caste Census (SECC) 2011 data.
