A day after the US Embassy in India issued a warning for student visa holders, on Thursday (January 8), the embassy again issued another warning for those seeking B1/B2 visitor visas for the United States.
In a short animated video, the embassy explains the do's and don'ts while travelling to the US, saying what people are and are not allowed to do when visiting the country.

Stark warning
Aiming to help people who are not sure what the B1/B2 visa allows, the embassy said that they were "not alone" and remarked in the X post, "Every U.S. visa has specific rules and following them is your responsibility. Join Nick and Neha this month in an animated video series as they explain the essential B1/B2 visa rules, so you can use your visa correctly and avoid problems at the port of entry."
Claiming that it was the person's responsibility to use the B1/B2 visitor visa "correctly", the embassy said, "During your visa interview, if the consular officer believes you do not intend to follow the rules for a visitor visa, he or she may deny your application."
The embassy further stated, "If you misuse your visa or stay longer than allowed, you could be permanently banned from future travel."
The US Embassy in India said that the applicants can learn more about the rules at 'travel.state.gov/visas'.

Other warnings
In a similar warning for international students on Wednesday, the embassy said that those found violating the US laws will be deported and their visas will be revoked.
"Breaking U.S. laws can have serious consequences for your student visa. If you are arrested or violate any laws, your visa may be revoked, you may be deported, and you could be ineligible for future U.S. visas," the US Embassy said in a post on X. It added that the US visa is a privilege, not a right.
