India's first Vande Bharat Sleeper train is soon to be launched this week. This is an important step in the development of long-distance trains in India. The semi-high-speed train named Kamakhya-Howrah Vande Bharat Sleeper Express is to be launched on Thursday, January 22.
Functioning and managed by the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) zone, the modern sleeping train service has been designed to provide faster and more convenient night-long connectivity to the Northeast from Eastern India.
The train will operate from Kamakhya to Howrah on all days of the week except Wednesday, and from Howrah to Kamakhya on all days of the week except Thursday.

Complete list of stoppages on the Kamakhya–Howrah route
On its journey from Howrah to Kamakhya, there will be a halt at 13 stations for the Vande Bharat Sleeper train. These are Bandel, Nabadwip Dham, Katwa, Azimganj, New Farakka, Malda Town, Aluabari Road, New Jalpaiguri, Jalpaiguri Road, New Cooch Behar, New Alipurduar, New Bongaigaon and Rangiya.
The total journey time for the entire route will be around 14 hours, making it a convenient overnight option for passengers.
Coach composition and rake deployment details
This Howrah-Kamakhya-Howrah Vande Bharat Sleeper Express will have 16 coaches in its arrangement, which include 11 AC 3-tier coaches, four AC 2-tier coaches, and one AC 1st class. In all, two rakes of this train will operate on the Howrah and Guwahati route.
Vande Bharat Sleeper timetable: Departure and arrival timings
The Howrah-Kamakhya Vande Bharat Sleeper train number is 27575. The departure time is 18:20 hrs. The next day, it will arrive in Kamakhya at 08:20 hrs. The return train is 27576. It will depart from Kamakhya station at 18:15 hrs. The next day it will arrive in Howrah at 08:15 hrs.
With its overnight departure and morning arrival option, the newly launched sleeper service Vande Bharat plans to change the overnight journey experience for the commuters travelling between eastern India and the Northeast.
