Among the most anticipated movies scheduled for 2026 is Dhurandhar 2, which is going as planned. Since Dhurandhar opened its theatres on December 5, there has been some buzz about the upcoming sequel. This excitement was recently dampened with news spreading about the probability of the much-awaited film being delayed. But finally, these worries can be set aside as it has been confirmed that Dhurandhar 2 will hit theatres as scheduled on March 19, 2026.
Teaser to premiere with Border 2 in theatres
Although the entire trailer of Dhurandhar 2 will release at the end of February, a preview for all is imminent very soon. The teaser of Ranveer Singh and Akshaye Khanna starrer Dhurandhar 2 will be attached to Border 2 and hit screens on January 23 as a move to directly reach movie audiences.

As reported by Bollywood Hungama, director Aditya Dhar has re-edited the end credit sequence of Dhurandhar and moulded this into a teaser format for the sequel. "The idea is to replug the release date in the minds of cinema-going audiences. Dhurandhar 2 is confirmed for an Eid 2026 release, the teaser will re-establish the date with some newer visuals," a source told Bollywood Hungama.
Riding the wave of patriotic cinema
The timing appears strategic, as the industry is currently witnessing a surge in patriotic films. With titles like Dhurandhar, Ikkis, and now Border 2, the genre continues to draw attention. "Both Dhurandhar 2 and Border 2 are nationalistic films, and the team at Jio Studios wants to capitalise on the wave of patriotic cinema. The new cut of teaser from the end-credits of part one will be out digitally too, after a premiere on the big screen. For the beginners, it is a big screen exclusive", the source further revealed.

About Border 2
The film is directed in the style of a sequel to the cult hit of 1997 ‘Border’ by J.P. Dutta, marking Border 2 in the presence of stars like Varun Dhawan, Sunny Deol, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty in the main cast. The other cast members include Mona Singh, Sonam Bajwa, Anya Singh, Medha Rana, Suniel Shetty, and Akshaye Khanna, appearing in special cameos.
