January 15 is Indian Army Day. This year, the 78th Indian Army Day is being celebrated across the country. Jaipur in Rajasthan is also part of that list. On Thursday, a parade was organised on Mahal Road in Jagatpura, Jaipur. There, soldiers from various regiments of the army demonstrated their valour.
Rajasthan Governor Haribhau Bagde and Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma attended the day's program and saluted the soldiers.
Display of military strength and indigenous weapons
To highlight India's growing military capabilities, missile systems made with indigenous technology were displayed in the parade on this day. Additionally, advanced tanks and state-of-the-art military vehicles were also showcased.
The ‘BrahMos’ missile system is one of the most powerful weapons of the Indian Army. Additionally, various types of weapons of the Indian Army made with indigenous technology were displayed in the day's parade.
Anti-air and anti-tank systems are among the key weapons of the Indian Army. These two weapons play a special role in countering aerial attacks. Advanced weapon systems that destroy enemy tanks also found a place in the day's parade.
Robotic dogs, drones and cultural performances
However, the special attractions of the day's parade were robotic dogs and advanced drones. Currently, the Indian Army is using advanced drone technology for special surveillance.
Amidst the military grandeur, Rajasthan's traditional ‘Kalbeliya’ and ‘Gair’ dances added a special dimension to the day's program.
Nepal Army participation and evening programme
Nepal's friendship and cooperation in India's defence sector is long-standing. As a symbol of that relationship, the Nepalese Army band team participated specially in the day's parade.
As part of Indian Army Day, a special program ‘Shaurya Sandhya’ was organised in the evening at SMS Stadium in Jaipur. Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh was present there.
