Leonor was born in Madrid on October 31, 2005. Her father is King Felipe VI and her mother is Letizia (Queen Letizia), who was a journalist. Among their two daughters, Leonor is the elder. For now, she will remain in the position of princess and heir.

Her school life was at Santa María de los Rosales School in Madrid. After that, she obtained her undergraduate degree from UWC Atlantic in Wales, Britain. From there, she completed her International Baccalaureate. Her studies focused on international politics and constitution.
