The family of the 41-year-old patient, who died in the Jharkhand air ambulance crash, had taken a loan of Rs 8 lakh to arrange his treatment in Delhi. Sanjay Kumar, 41, who suffered severe burn injuries in a fire accident, was among the seven people killed in the recent air ambulance crash in Chatra district.
As per a report by India Today, the family members had taken a loan of Rs 8 lakh to arrange the chartered aircraft that was meant to fly him from Ranchi to Delhi for advanced treatment.
Struggle to Save the Sole Breadwinner
Sanjay, a resident of Latehar district, was critically injured last Monday after an electric short circuit triggered a fire at his modest hotel in Chandwa. He sustained serious burns while at work. As his condition worsened and local treatment options were exhausted, the family decided to shift him to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital for specialised care.

His brother Ajay told India Today that the family had even considered selling their property and land to fund the treatment. Eventually, they arranged money through loans and help from friends and well-wishers to cover both hospital expenses and the cost of the air ambulance.
Sanjay, the sole breadwinner, boarded the flight along with his wife Archana Devi and relative Dhruv Kumar.
Crash shortly after takeoff
The Beechcraft C90 aircraft, operated by Delhi-based charter service Redbird Airways, took off from Ranchi on Monday evening. Shortly after departure, it crashed in Jharkhand’s Chatra district. All seven people on board died.
